ArtsPartners of Central Illinois is proud to announce a call for entries to artists for Sky Art Peoria 2024. Sky Art Peoria is a juried competition that puts the work of local artists on Adams Outdoor 48’ x 14’ billboards that are seen by thousands of local residents. This is a value of over $37,000 in free advertising awarded to each winning artist.
The mission of ArtsPartners of Central Illinois is to build awareness and strengthen the arts for the economic and cultural enrichment of central Illinois.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, (students under the age of 18 can apply for the student program HERE.)
You must be a resident of Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties.
If you were selected as a winner of Sky Art Peoria in the past 3 years, you can not apply this year. (i.e. winners from 2023, 2022, and 2021 may not apply.)
Sky Art Peoria is not just for 2D artists. If you are a 3D or performance artist and can photographically represent your work, you can enter.
All art is subject to approval, and no work that is offensive, slanderous, or that contains hate speech will be accepted.
Submissions must be the work of one individual or entity. Collaborations/teams will not be accepted.
Your work must fit the correct proportions/dimensions of a 48’x14’ billboard.
You can create an original piece for Sky Art Peoria or crop one of your existing pieces to fit the correct proportions. A video tutorial is available on the ArtsPartners website on how to format and submit your art.
Art submitted with incorrect proportions will not be accepted.
We welcome entries from all artists regardless of race, ethnicity, religion (creed), age (within the eligibility requirements,) political affiliation, gender, gender expression, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
Artwork is shown to the jury anonymously.
Important Dates
Call opens on March 4, 2024
Submission deadline is April 21, 2024 at midnight.
A minimum of four winning artists will be selected by the jury. Winners will be notified in May.
Sky Art Peoria 2024 winning artists will be announced to the general public via press release in June.
Winning artists’ work will be displayed from June 2024 - May 2025 on billboards, with locations circulating throughout the region.
Winning artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a Sky Art Peoria Gallery Exhibition and will be invited to participate in an opening reception at a date to be determined.
How to Enter
Please note: You will submit a smaller file via artcall.org. If you win, you will be required to supply a high-resolution file that will produce a 48' x 14' billboard.
There is a $20 processing fee to submit up to (3) pieces. Artists must be able to supply a digital image of their work meeting the following requirements. All production costs for the printing of the billboards will be borne by the program.
Your artwork must fit the billboard proportions. Images submitted with incorrect proportions will not be accepted.
Entry Requirements
Please submit the following by April 21, 2024.
A brief artist statement that explains your medium of work, lists your website URL and all related online accounts, and includes a brief explanation why you would like to be part of the Sky Art Peoria program.
Each artist can submit up to 3 pieces per entry.

Winning Artists Requirements
Winning artists must provide production work that fits the requirements of a 48’ x 14’ billboard.

If the work is not already to scale, Adams Outdoor Advertising has the right to manipulate the image to comply with production specifications. Artwork that does not meet the specification requirements will not be considered.
All billboards will rotate upon available locations in the market. There are no guarantees on billboard locations or the period of time an image will be at a specific location.
